Updated: Jun 11, 2019

VIOLENCE BLOG IS OF A SERIES OF STORIES THAT I WILL WRITE DESCRIBING PERSONAL EXPERIENCES AND FICTIONAL STORIES OF VIOLENCE AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE SCENARIOS FOR INDIVIDUALS TO CONSIDER AND APPLY TO THEIR RESPECTIVE TRAINING REGIMES.

READER BEWARE: THESE SITUATIONS ARE DESCRIBED IN FULL DETAIL AND CONTAIN PROFANITY AND DESCRIPTIONS OF SEVERE VIOLENCE. THIS CONTENT IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

I CAN NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY THAT THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. PLEASE READ ON FOR YOU ENTERTAINMENT AND TAKE FROM THE STORY WHAT YOU WILL. IT COULD BE COMPLETE FICTION.

"THIS IS MY TOWN BITCH!"

I WAS WORKING ON A PAVING CREW IN THE EARLY 2000'S. WE WERE WRAPPING UP RE-PAVING A BUSY ROADWAY IN COATESVILLE, PA. COATESVILLE IS A VERY URBANIZED TOWN WITHIN CHESTER COUNTY, PA. I WAS WORKING WITH A HANDFUL OF DUDES, THREE OF WHICH WERE PUERTO RICAN BROTHERS. I HAD WORKED WITH THESE GUYS FEW ALITTLE WHILE AND WE GOT ALONG GREAT. I GENUINELY LIKED THESE GUYS. THEY WERE HARD WORKERS AND SKILLED PAVERS. THEY WERE JOVIAL AND LIKED TO BREAK BALLS AND JOKE AROUND WHICH MADE THE HARD UNPLEASANT LABOR ALITTLE MORE BEARABLE.

WE WERE ALL WORKING ON SEALING THE EDGES OF THE PAVED AREA WITH HOT TAR. I DON'T REMEMBER HOW HOT THIS SHIT WAS BUT IT WAS HOT AS HELL. SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE WERE ALSO WORKING TO RE-DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUND THE FRESHLY PAVED AREA AND CLEAN UP THE PAVING EQUIPMENT. WORKING IN THE ROADWAY WAS ALWAYS TEDIOUS AND NEAR MISSES WITH VEHICLES WAS COMMON PLACE.

IN THIS CASE, A TINTED-OUT SEDAN, WHIPPED QUICKLY THROUGH OUR AREA. ONE OF THE BROTHERS WHO WAS POURING THE HOT TAR ON THE PAVING JOINT WITH A SPECIALIZED BUCKET WAS VERY CLOSE TO GETTING CLIPPED BY THIS VEHICLE. WE WERE ALL WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWENTY YARDS OF THIS GUY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE BROTHER WITH THE OIL YELLED AT THE VEHICLE TO "SLOW THE FUCK DOWN".

AT THIS POINT, THE TINTED-OUT SEDAN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RE-DIRECTED LANE AND TWO LARGE BLACK DUDES GOT OUT AND MADE A BEE-LINE TO THE BROTHER WITH THE TAR. I CAN'T RECALL EXACTLY EVERYTHING THAT WAS SAID. BUT WHAT STICKS IN MY MIND IS HOW FAST THESE TWO BLACK DUDES THREW ON THE BRAKES AND JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THESE GUYS WE UP ON MY BUDDY FAST. (I HAVE HEARD ALOT OF PEOPLE AND SELF PROCLAIMED EXPERTS DESCRIBE HOW THINGS SLOW DOWN OR SEEM TO HAPPEN IN SLOW MOTION DURING VIOLENCE. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN THE CASE FOR ME. PERSONALLY, THINGS SEEM TO SPEED UP FOR ME AND USUALLY, NOT ALWAYS, I NEED TO CATCH UP QUICKLY.) THESE TWO BLACK DUDES WERE YELLING AT MY BUDDY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY. I REMEMBER THE ONE BLACK DUDE YELLING, "THIS IS MY TOWN BITCH". MY BUDDY STOOD THERE DEFIANTLY DESPITE THESE TWO LARGE AND ANGRY DUDES IN HIS GRILL. I LOOKED AROUND AND NOTICED MY BUDDIES TWO OTHER BROTHERS STEALTHILY WALKING BEHIND THE TWO ANGRY BLACK DUDES. THEY BOTH HAD EITHER A SHOVEL OR A PAVING RAKE IN THEIR HANDS.

MY BUDDY STILL HAD THE BUCKET OF HOT TAR IN HIS LEFT HAND. HE WAS JAWING BACK AND FORTH WITH THE TWO BLACK DUDES AND EVENTUALLY ONE OF THEM REALIZED WHAT HE WAS HOLDING. THE ONE BLACK DUDE SAID, "DROP WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS AND WE CAN GET TO WORK". MY BUDDY NEVER PUT THE HOT TAR DOWN AND HIS BODY LANGUAGE AND POSITIONING APPEARED TO ME THAT HE WAS PREPARED TO THROW IT ON HIS TWO POSSIBLE ASSAILANTS.

EVENTUALLY, NOTHING HAPPENED AND THE TWO BLACK DUDES GOT IN THEIR CAR AND SPED OFF. IN MY OPINION, IF MY BUDDY DID NOT HAVE THAT TAR IN HIS HAND WHEN SHIT JUMPED OFF, THE TWO BLACK DUDES DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE WENT OFF ON HIM RIGHT THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS OF TALKING SHIT, THE TWO BLACK DUDES IDENTIFIED THE THREAT THAT THE TAR PRESENTED AND ALSO APPEARED TO NOTICE THE OTHER MEN ON THE PAVING CREW REACTING TO THERE PRESENCE. THESE FACTORS AS WELL LIKELY CONTRIBUTED TO THIS INCIDENT NOT GOING FURTHER.

THE "THIS IS MY TOWN BITCH" LINE BECAME A REGULAR JOKE AND MANTRA OF THE PAVING CREW FOR A LONG TIME AFTER THAT.
